Wednesday Out With the Girls: Revisited. Cheesecake Factory and Hobby Lobby?!?

Tonight’s post began as a tutorial on netted beaded cord (which is absolutely beautiful!).  But instead, I hijacked it and decided to go out with my girlfriends after work.

So where did you go this week you might ask, well, where else: Cheesecake Factory and Hobby Lobby.  And believe me if you have never been to a craft store with your girlfriends after a few drinks, then I highly recommend it.

Asian Pear Martini (Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Pear, Sake and Passion Fruit): Yummy!

Even for you who don’t have a crafty bone in your body will have a ton of fun!  Now I am not going to bore you with a review of Cheesecake Factory or Hobby Lobby. If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past 10 years you probably live within throwing distance of a Cheesecake Factory and have eaten at one at least once.  It is the same 400 page menu that they all have intermixed with crazy ads for stuff like over priced jewelry and Coke.  You have to admire a restaurant that is bold enough to sell ad space in their menu and make it into a book.  Personally I love the warm asparagus salad.  It is one of those salads that takes all of the trendy stuff that is going on, and throw it on the same plate.  Word to the wise, if you don’t like a sunny side-up egg on everything, this isn’t the “salad” for you.

I am always in awe of what restaurants call a salad.  What is the definition of a salad**, anything made of vegetables with a dressing?  Well is a half cup of oil is a dressing and sun-dried tomatoes are vegetables (well, I know they are fruits, but really, stay with me), and if not there is always the asparagus…well, at least it is green….

Wow…thought I wasn’t going to go into a review of the restaurant?  Kinda got sucked down that rabbit hole.

Yummy cheesecake!

Coming out the other side, watch that they cook the egg enough.

Tonight the white was pretty undercooked…that is all I need on Halloween tomorrow, being relegated to the bathroom while everyone is out having fun (although in reality the likelihood of Salmonella from an undercooked egg is now somewhere around 1 in 20,000 eggs which is down from 1 in 10,000 eggs 15 years ago when I graduated! In addition, restaurants I would hope have very fresh eggs which would cut the actual bacterial loads per egg down as although the bacteria is deposited in the chicken in the whites, it doesn’t begin to grow until the whites get runny as they get old and they work their way down to the yolk*).

Ok, it seems that along with Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, I like Alice are wandering around Wonderland being dragged into craziness…

One kick butt character!

So Hobby Lobby.  A few drinks and crazy home furnishings mixed with all the crafty supplies one could ever want and every project in any stage of being done…what more could a gal want on a Wed night, $50 later I am really happy to be out of there any only spending $50!  It wasn’t karaoke, but it is always fun!

Hoping for a tutorial or the follow-up on the paints.  Have no fear.  I have bingo with friends on Friday, so no restaurant review this weekend, but I will do both the tutorial and the follow-up.  Stay tuned!
